Welcome to June…

Well, Jessica says that there is nothing interesting to write about. Nothing to us maybe! We have decided to get the kids a fish tank for their birthday. This is a new thing to me. I can remember that my mother always had a fish tank and that the fish never seem to stay alive. In my mind that formulates to fish being difficult or one flush away from being easy…however you choose to look at it! They are really excited about it though. Jessica keeps asking them if they want the fish to come live with us and they get very excited.

Another new development is that we have slowed down on the potty training. Lily accidentally went number two in her potty and although she was extremely excited about it she says that she won’t do it again! It seems like they get really upset when we try to put them on the potty so we will wait a month and try again. Perhaps we will enlist the grandparents to help us.

Anyway, it is about three weeks until the Germans/Japanese-Germans get here to spend some time with us. It should be a pretty hectic and busy month. We are looking forward to seeing them and are trying to find a weekend to take the fishing and camping. For those of you who don’t know, I am learning how to fish. Not that I have never been fishing, but wading through the Shenandoah River and fishing off a pier or a boat in Alabama is completely different. Hopefully Greg and I will get a weekend nailed down this week so that we can make reservations out at Andy Guest State Park for a night or so.

I added new pictures to the 2010 album and the June album. The better pictures are for the end of May under the 2010 album. I hope that you all enjoy!

Gulf Shores…

So this is pretty upsetting! I have been writing the Oil Spill off hoping that it wouldn’t hit the Alabama coast. Obviously this was crazy and I should have come to reality a long time ago. There has been a lot of talk saying that maybe it would stay west but today I read that it is 8.5 miles from the Gulf Shores/Orange Beaches.

You would think that as far along as we are and technology as a great as it is that we would be able to cap this kind of thing off. I think what makes all of this tougher is that we, as a country/culture, rely on oil so much that we need to continue collecting as much of it as we can. It is a catch 22 that I don’t think anyone really wants to think about. Everyone should take some time and think about it, I know that I do.

It is a shame that my kids may never be able to see and appriciate the beauty that I grew up in!

What happens when mommy goes to school…

Rough Night…

So last night we had a crazy hail storm. During this storm the rain was coming down in sheets. During the rain portion we had tons of water leak in through the tops of the windows all on one side of the house. Go figure…just one more thing that is screwed up about this house. The crazy part is that I was really getting used to it and beginning to like it. Now I have to figure out how to put weather stripping up around each of my windows so this doesn’t happen again. We have lived here for a while without this happening so I am guess that we will be okay if we wait a little bit before I start work on it. It just sucks….

I added a few more pictures today…I hope that you all enjoy…

Ryan and Lily Keeping in Shape

We all know there is no need for them to go jogging, but they insist…

They are just playing although it appears that Lily runs the show…

May Update

As May is wrapping to a close we are trying to get back in the mood of taking pictures. It is tough but we actually have more than I thought. We haven’t gotten out to do much, we took the kids to the zoo a couple weeks ago and had a blast. The kids loved the animals and were extremely good. It has been a lot tougher to do stuff since I started going to school again. I don’t really have time to do much because the rest of my schedule is filled up. It didn’t help that Jessica also started back this week. It has to be done though!

Anyway, we are looking forward to a busy summer. Everyone under the sun is coming to visit. We finally have grass and nice back yard to sit and drink a few beers in as well so it should be an extremely nice summer.

Hopefully I will be able to do a little bit of fishing also. I just went for the first time in more than ten years and had a blast. I hope that you all enjoy the pictures.

A little dancing never hurt anyone…
